BlogIf you would like to write blog posts, which will appear on our YogiHari.com web site and quite possibly our social media platform, we would be delighted. Here are some ideas:
- Reinspire best practices learned during ttc, remind each other of your time. Keep the community going.
- Write to YogiHari.
Everyone gets the benefits: students of communication while the ashram is being talked about and remembered. Not to mention, writing is theraputic, if you get all of your thoughts down on paper and work toward mind clarity this can help you in your path towards meditation.
Hellenthal, Germany July 2017 We had a wonderful time at our week-long Nada Yoga retreat in Hellenthal, Germany at the end of July, along with 40 students and disciples of Yogi Hari from all over Europe. As the theme of the week was Nada Yoga, the Yoga of Divine Vibration, each day was filled with workshops on chanting, lectures on Yoga and music, and several Hatha Yoga classes to choose from. During the afternoon workshops on Nada Yoga, students could choose from a beginner’s chanting workshop which focused on developing rhythm (tala) and melody (raga). More advanced students brought their harmoniums to the master class with Guruji where they reviewed various chants and learned how to play them on harmonium. The natural and peaceful environment of Hellenthal is the perfect place for a Yoga retreat and we all enjoyed the fresh air of the surrounding national forest and walks along the desolate country roads. The retreat was nurturing to all who attended and some even brought their families to participate in the week of divine association. One of the disciples arranged to several of the Satsangs professionally recorded. It was wonderful to have such a large and enthusiastic group of students chanting together with Guruji and the recordings came out very well. We are in the process of mixing and editing the recordings and are excited to have material for a possible Live Yogi Hari album to be released in the future. We look forward to spending another inspiring week in Hellenthal summer of 2018. Please stay tuned for the dates. Here are a few photos from the retreat, and you can see many more on our Facebook page. ...read more
By the grace of God, the Ashram and most of eastern South Florida was spared by the ferocious winds and water of recent hurricane Irma that tore through the Caribbean and up the west coast of Florida. We received many of your messages as we all watched the hurricane approach Ft. Lauderdale and we are grateful for your thoughts and prayers as we weathered the storm. Six of us stayed on at the ashram and experienced up to 80 mph winds on Sunday, September 10th. We lost power on Sunday morning and although we were without power for several days, we had a generator that helped us all stay comfortable and connected with friends and family. After a few days with no running water, we were elated when the pump from the well was working again, blessing us with much-needed showers. There are still many homes without power in South Florida and some people lost much more than only power and water. We are grateful that we were all safe and that we experienced such little damage during what could have been a disastrous hurricane. We lost many trees and limbs during the storm and are in the process of cleaning up the ashram as life returns to normal. If you could lend a hand to help us with storm cleanup, whether it’s a few hours or a few days, we would greatly appreciate the assistance. Give us a call or stop by if you’d like to help. Here’s a video and some photos of the ashram during and after Hurricane Irma: Roots of trees had no footing in waterlogged soil from all of Irma’s flooding. Our neighbors trees fell over and took their fence with them. The orchid tree fell but luckily didn’t land on any buildings. Banana trees didn’t stand a chance. We lost some papaya trees during the storm. The trellis didn’t stand up to 80 mph winds. The pond swelled to three times its size with all of Irma’s rain. Roberto clearing away branches and limbs Our big mango tree uprooted. We will trim it back and upright it again. Rasa and Krishna are exhausted after clearing branches all morning. Hauling away the downed limbs and branches…. and Rasa, too! Guruji trimming the big mango tree. Satsang Every Sunday 7:00 – 8:30 pm * Every Sunday evening at Yogi Hari’s Ashram in Miramar, Florida, people gather around Shri Yogi Hari to enjoy his deep wisdom, divine chanting, and inspiring presence. This gathering is called “Satsang,” a Sanskrit word that translates to “Community of Wisdom or Truth Seekers.” The truth that we seek is the ultimate truth, answers to questions like, “Who am I? What am I? What is the purpose of life?” The program begins with some time for silence to rest the mind and practice meditation. We continue with meditation with the practice of Nada Yoga, which consists of chanting of Moksha Mantras, or Mantras for Liberation, Bhajans, Sholkas, and Kirtan that heal the body, mind, and spirit on all levels. Shri Yogi Hari then encourages questions from attendees to prompt a topic for the evening lecture. Lectures are informed by knowledge from the Vedas, or ancient scriptures, as well as from Shri Yogi Hari’s life experiences of over 50 years of practicing and teaching Yoga. Among the topics covered during Satsang lectures are: ~ Theory and practice of the 3 bodies (physical, astral, causal) and 5 sheaths with emphasis on the Chakra system. ~ Experience how you can use sound vibration to tune and awaken the Chakras ~ Pranayama, Mudras, Bandhas to awaken Kundalini Shakti ~ Chakra meditation using the sacred mantra “Om” ~ Yama and Niyama, the moral and ethical foundation to all Yogic practices and spiritual life ~ What is good health, and how to gain and maintain it If you are looking for a way to promote inner peace, good health, and happiness, look no further. Come out to Yogi Hari’s Ashram to experience Satsang with a genuine Yoga Master. Cost: $15 per class *During Teacher’s Training Courses, Satsang is held on Sundays from 7:30-9:00 pm, instead of the normal time of 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. ...read more
